7pm-late: Christmas meeting of The WS at The Chamberlain Hotel. Auction of books (details to follow), launch of the new Whitechapel Society book, Quiz, Entertainment. The best leather apron competition. Entry free for WS members, guests pay £5 on the door.

11am-1pm: A guided walk by Ed Stow down Whitechapel Rd towards the City – retracing backwards the last steps taken by Polly Nichols on 31st Aug 1888. Uncovering 700 yrs of history in this iconic corner of the East End. Meet at 11am at the Whitechapel Ideas Store (library). Cost £5
1pm: Christmas lunch. Venue yet to be decided. Cost to follow.
