The Society’s A.G.M will be at 6pm in the basement room of the Chamberlain Hotel on Saturday 1st December 2018.
December Meeting
We are delighted to announce that our speaker will be Jon Rees whose talk is entitled “A Century Apart: Profiles of Jack the Ripper”.
Doors will open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start in the basement room.
Sunday 2nd December
Tower of London tour
On Sunday 2nd Dec, we have a limited number of places on a free conducted tour of the Tower of London commencing 10:30am.
For those of you who would like to join us for this, it is vital that you let me know a.s.a.p as numbers are very limited and I will work on a first-come-first-served-basis. Whilst there is no charge for this, I can only put you on the list once I have received your payment for the lunch-time meal.
Christmas Lunch
Our traditional Christmas lunch will be held at The Chamberlain (meet 12:45pm for a 1pm sit-down).
This will be followed by an after-lunch speaker, Elizabeth Haynes, who will talk to us about the 1843 unsolved murder of Harriet Monkton in Bromley.

The cost of the meal, followed by the speaker, is £28 per person. Menus available from Sue. Payment is required in advance and can be paid in one of three ways:
- Directly into the Society’s bank account. Sort code 20-75-01. Acc no 83781976. If you use this method, please use your initial and surname as your reference and email Sue to advise.
- A cheque made payable to the Whitechapel Society and posted to Sue’s address – contact her at susanmarieparry@hotmail.co.uk for details.
- Via PayPal. subs@whitechapelsociety.com If you use this method please add on £1.20 to cover PayPal fees (ie the total cost is £29.20 per person).
